Liverpool will get their hands on the Premier League title this weekend.

As previously reported by the ECHO, Jeremie Frimpong has undergone a medical ahead of a £30m switch from Bayer Leverkusen.

While the Reds have also informed Florian Wirtz’s parents that they would be a viable option should they wish to leave Leverkusen this summer.

However, it has been claimed that Bayern are considered as favourites to sign the 22-year-old, and below is a round-up of the latest transfer gossip doing the rounds surrounding the Reds.

Xabi Alonso is set to become the new manager of Real Madrid – and he has reportedly asked Florentino Perez to sign Florian Wirtz.

According to Spanish publication Defensa Central, Alonso has told Madrid president Perez that he wants to sign Wirtz, with the report even claiming to know what the former Liverpool midfielder told his new boss.

It is claimed that Alonso has told Perez: “He is the best in his position, he gives us things we do not have.

He can win the Ballon d’Or.”

The ECHO has previously reported that Arne Slot wants to make a significant play for the £125million-rated Germany international.

Liverpool are reportedly 'very interested' in bringing Julian Alvarez back to the Premier League this summer.

The Argentina international left Manchester City last summer to sign for Atletico Madrid in a deal worth £82m.

He has scored 29 times in 53 appearances in all competitions so far this season, with those impressive figures seeing him being linked with a move away from the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

And according to journalist Matías Palacios on the Spanish TV show El Chiringuito, via Sport Witness, the Reds, along with Arsenal, are interested in signing the World Cup winner.

The report goes on to claim that Los Rojiblancos would be willing to sanction Alvarez’s sale if the offer they receive is higher than what they paid for him, and meetings with interested clubs will start next week.

The claims come after Atletico president Enrique Cerezo has ruled out selling Alvarez this summer.

Asked by Esport3 about Alvarez's future earlier this week, he said: "Julian Alvarez is a player of Atletico de Madrid.

He’s very happy here, he is our player and he will remain our player.

"He was raised at Atletico Madrid and he will die at Atletico Madrid.”
